Title: Baking Cakes in the Electric Frypan
Categories: Cake
Yield: 1 Servings

1pkCake mix of choice

Use your frypan to turn out delicious, moist coffee cake, upside down cakes, cottage puddings and light fluffy cakes from your own recipe or the packaged mixes. Use for chafing dish desserts too, right at the table -- a magic finale for the meal.

PACKAGED CAKE MIXES: Mix as directed on package. Bake as directed below.

Bake cakes directly in bottom of frypan.

Approximate Time: 35 minutes, with vent open last 5 minutes. Time may vary slightly with type and amount of batter.

Temperature: 280 degrees F.

Instructions: Cover frypan, close vent. Preheat to 280 degrees F. Do this while mixing -- requires about 4-1/2 minutes to preheat. When preheated, grease well, using a pastry brush. Sprinkle lightly with flour, brushing the flour and shortening mixture over surface.

Add batter, cover, bake until top of cake is no longer moist -- about 35 minutes. Open vent last 5 minutes of baking time. Loosen well around edges with a spatula. Invert on a cake cooler rack. Let stand a few minutes before lifting frypan off cake. Cool.

Cakes may be cut in half and iced as layers, cut into squares to be used for shortcake, cottage pudding with a sauce or other dessert base.
